TCWCT Empowering Futures: Mentorship and Career Guidance Program for 300 Students
On February 20, 2025, The Children's Welfare Charitable Trust (TCWCT), in partnership with Century Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. and CareerNaksha, organized an impactful Mentorship and Career Guidance Program at PM Shri Model School, Halol, Panchmahal district, Vadodara, India. This initiative aimed to inspire and equip students from rural communities with the tools and resources necessary to unlock their full potential and pursue higher education after their 10th and 12th grades.
This Mentorship and Career Guidance camp addressed key challenges faced by students in rural areas, the camp sought to inspire them to dream big, reduce school dropout rates, and equip them for a brighter future. It brought together educators, mentors, and teachers to inspire these students and help them chart a brighter future.
The program was designed to address the challenges faced by rural students in making informed decisions about their academic and career paths. Often, students in such areas have limited access to guidance and resources that could help them identify opportunities aligned with their strengths and interests. Recognizing this gap, TCWCT to create an empowering platform where young minds could explore their aspirations and receive the support they need to achieve them.
CareerNaksha’s involvement brought an added layer of expertise to the program. Mr. Tushar Karlekar, a seasoned career counsellor associated with CareerNaksha, conducted engaging sessions that helped students better understand their career options. Mr. Karlekar provided personalized guidance and practical advice, enabling students to identify their strengths, interests, and aptitudes. His insights on aligning academic choices with career goals were invaluable in motivating students to take confident steps toward their future.
During the event, 300 students participated in interactive career counselling sessions led by Mr. Karlekar and other experienced mentors. These sessions provided valuable insights into various academic streams, professional fields, and skill-building opportunities. The mentors shared inspiring stories, practical advice, and strategies for overcoming challenges, motivating students to dream big and work towards their goals.
Additionally, the program included discussions on emerging career trends and the importance of soft skills, such as communication, critical thinking, and adaptability, which are crucial for succeeding in today’s dynamic world. The students were encouraged to ask questions, share their aspirations, and seek guidance on specific academic or professional concerns.
One of the highlights of the program was the emphasis on the role of education in breaking barriers and fostering socio-economic upliftment.
