TCWCT celebrates International Day of Happiness

It’s a day to be happy, of course! Happiness is a fundamental human goal.

At The Children's Welfare Charitable Trust (TCWCT), every day is about spreading joy and making a difference in the lives of underserved communities. But today, on the International Day of Happiness, we are particularly thrilled to celebrate the spirit of happiness by continuing our mission to serve and uplift those in need.

Happiness is more than just a fleeting emotion; it embodies a state of positivity marked by sensations of joy, contentment, satisfaction, and fulfillment. Its definition varies from person to person, reflecting individual experiences and perspectives. However, universally, happiness plays a pivotal role in various aspects of societal advancement. It is fundamental to fostering development, alleviating poverty, reducing inequality, preserving the environment, promoting inclusivity, and fostering sustainable economic growth.

However, for many marginalized communities, happiness remains an elusive aspiration—a luxury out of reach. Millions grapple with the harsh realities of poverty daily, battling to meet their basic needs. Yet, amidst these challenges, their pursuit of happiness remains a noble cause—one that warrants our collective effort and support.

The Organization recognizes the importance of addressing the root causes of unhappiness by providing essential support in critical areas.

Nourishing Bodies and Minds: Through the Food Security Program, the Organization combats child malnutrition by providing nutritious meals and essential food items to those in need. Today, as we celebrate happiness, our teams are spreading smiles by ensuring children have access to nourishing meals for their healthy growth and development.

Creating Healthy Environments: Under the Organization’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (“WASH”) Program, TCWCT works to improve access to clean water and sanitation facilities and conducts WASH in School programs, by promoting overall health and happiness of children. On this joyous occasion, our efforts are focused on educating communities about hygiene practices.

Unlocking Potential through Learning: Education is a cornerstone of happiness and opportunity. Through our Education Program, the Organization strives to increase school enrollment rates and provide quality education in disadvantaged areas. Today, TCWCT celebrates the joy of learning by providing educational materials and supportive environments for children to thrive.

Caring for Mothers and Children: In our Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (“MNCH”) Program, we prioritize comprehensive healthcare services for mothers and children, ensuring they receive the care they need to thrive. Today, we celebrate the miracle of life by improving access to healthcare and reducing maternal and child mortality rates.
