TCWCT Celebrates World Water Day

World Water Day, observed annually on March 22nd, serves as a poignant reminder of the vital role that water plays in sustaining life and driving development. It is a day to reflect on the stark realities faced by millions of people who lack access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation facilities. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, approximately 2.2 billion people worldwide lack access to safely managed drinking water services, while 4.2 billion people lack safely managed sanitation services.

As we commemorate World Water Day, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of water conservation and access to clean water, the Organization  believes that access to clean water is not just a basic necessity but a fundamental human right. Founded with the vision of creating a world where every child has the opportunity to lead a healthy and fulfilling life, our organization is committed to addressing the root causes of water insecurity and promoting sustainable solutions that empower communities for generations to come.

Central to our efforts is our Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) program, which aims to provide communities in need with access to clean water sources and promote hygiene education. Our WASH program and WASH in Schools program encompasses a range of initiatives, including providing clean drinking water, education on maintaining proper hygiene and handwashing facilities.Make it stand out

In addition to providing access to clean water and sanitation infrastructure, we place a strong emphasis on education and behaviour change. By raising awareness about the importance of handwashing, safe water storage, and proper sanitation practices, we empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being.

Each year, on World Water Day, The Children's Welfare Charitable Trust organises a series of events and activities to raise awareness about water-related issues and mobilize action within communities.

This year, we had the privilege of celebrating World Water Day with the children of Jetalpura Anganwadi in Vadodara, Gujarat, through a range of engaging and educational activities.

The highlight of our celebration was a drawing competition, where children were invited to express their creativity while learning about the importance of water conservation and the benefits of clean water. From colorful depictions of rivers and oceans to heartfelt messages about the need to protect our water sources, each artwork served as a powerful reminder of the role that art can play in driving social change.

In addition to the drawing competition, our World Water Day celebration included interactive sessions on water conservation, hygiene demonstrations, and community clean-up activities. Through these activities, we aimed to instill in the children a deeper appreciation for water and the environment, while also fostering a sense of responsibility for protecting these precious resources for future generations.
