TCWCT Ensuring Well-Being - Health Camp at Ranipura Primary School, Halol, India
At The Children's Welfare Charitable Trust (TCWCT), we are committed to revolutionizing the health and well-being of children in rural areas through pioneering initiatives. On July 3, 2024, TCWCT orchestrated a groundbreaking health check-up camp at Ranipura Primary School in Halol, Panchmahal District. This one-of-a-kind initiative, conducted in collaboration with Century Pharmaceuticals, marks a significant stride in our endeavors to implement impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in government schools.
The health check-up camp was part of our comprehensive "Enhancing Children’s Health Through Eye Check-Up, Dental Check-Up Camp, and WASH in Schools" program. Our collaboration with Century Pharmaceuticals has enabled us to leverage expertise and resources effectively, addressing critical health issues that affect children's development.
The camp at Ranipura Primary School was a well-coordinated effort, with healthcare professionals such as Dentist - Dr. Nida Saiyed and Eye Examiner - Mr. Abbas Tinwala from Vakal Nidan Kendra leading the charge in providing thorough eye examinations and dental check-ups. Over 250 students from standards 1 to 8 received personalized attention, with comprehensive assessments identifying potential health issues and offering invaluable advice on maintaining optimal eye and dental health.
In addition to medical check-ups, the camp featured interactive sessions to educate students on vital hygiene practices, including our Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Schools program, a pivotal and integral component of the health camp. The students learned about proper handwashing techniques, the importance of clean drinking water, and solid waste management. The Organization also conducted menstrual hygiene education. To support these teachings, TCWCT distributed hygiene kits to the students, which included a toothbrush, toothpaste, hand washing soap, and informative learning materials to help maintain proper hygiene practices
By addressing health and hygiene comprehensively, TCWCT aims to create a conducive environment for learning and growth. TCWCT ensures students access essential healthcare services and know how to prioritize their health effectively. This holistic approach, which covers both physical and mental well-being, is crucial for their overall development and well-being, and it's a strategy that we will continue to implement with confidence.
